Justyn Ross hasn’t played football in well over a year and to some, he is still the measuring stick.
Count Pitt defensive back Marquis Williams as one of those players ready to match up against the dynamic Clemson receiver. When asked if there was one ACC wideout he wants to line up across from, Williams had one name in mind.
“Justyn Ross from Clemson,” Williams said.
Williams, a redshirt junior, said he considers Ross the best wide receiver in the league and that he is ready to match up one-on-one with the former 5-star recruit out of Alabama.
“He’s the No. 1 receiver in the ACC right now,” Williams said. “They gotta come to Pittsburgh. They gotta come here, and we play man-to-man defense. I’m ready to pad up and go against him.”
Clemson and Pitt are set to play on October 23 when the Tigers make their first ever trip to Heinz Field.
