Clemson Recruiting: Tigers Top DE Targets Outside of Jeremiah Alexander

After 5-star defensive end Jeremiah Alexander visited Clemson in early June, it appeared the Tigers were in excellent shape to land the elite pass rusher from Alabama.

However, as it turns out, that was not the case, and Alexander once again committed to the Crimson Tide on Thursday. With Clemson looking to take at least two defensive ends, possibly three, and already having landed a commitment from Jihaad Campbell, the Tigers must now turn their attention to the remaining players on their board.

DJ Wesolak: The 4-star prospect was on hand for the Elite Retreat, but has slowly started to trend away from Clemson after his visit to USC and as the Tigers were on the trail of Alexander. Wesolak doesn’t plan on announcing a decision anytime soon, possibly not until January, so the Tigers still have plenty of time. As it stands today, Southern Cal is probably the leader, with Clemson a close second. We will see where things stand once the summer months wrap up.

Cyrus Moss: The 4-star end out of Nevada has been trending towards Oregon and the Ducks should be considered the leaders in the clubhouse. However, Moss is planning to take an official visit to Clemson in the fall and as we all know, the first real step in luring a kid into the program is getting him on campus.

Kenyatta Jackson: A 4-star prospect out of Florida, this is a name to really keep an eye on with Clemson missing on Alexander. Alabama, Ohio State, and Oklahoma all got officials visits in June but the question becomes what would happen if Clemson were to put the full court press on. Getting him on campus in the fall would be a good sign.
