The All In Cookout has become Dabo Swinney’s premier recruiting event each year and it has produced phenomenal results.
After having to scrap the annual event last summer due to the shutdown, Clemson is once again set to host some of the 2022 recruiting class’ top targets that remain on the board at the end of the month.
Let’s take a look at some of the uncommitted players that are likely to attend and no, you will not find Travis Shaw’s name on the list at this point.
RB Trevor Etienne: The top target on the board at the running back position. That was Branson Robinson at one point but he’s likely Georgia bound. Etienne’s recruitment has been one that has been hard to get a good read on but the Tigers have got to like where they stand currently.
TE Oscar Delp: It is looking like this is becoming a three-team battle between Georgia, South Carolina and Clemson. While Georgia has alway been considerd the favorite to land the elite tight end, Clemson is still in this thing and getting Delp back for the cookout is a big win in this battle. Committed players like Cade Klubnik and Adam Randall have also been recruiting Delp hard.
CB Jeadyn Lukus: Arguably the most important piece in this class. A top-50 talent nationally and grew up just down the road from Clemson in Maudlin rooting for the Tigers. You just can’t let a guy like that get away after you have made him a priority throughout, especially not to an ACC foe like North Carolina, who has been Clemson’s biggest competition.
DT Gabe Dindy: The 5-star DT from Florida is supposed to be on hand. This is an interior defensive linemen that runs a 4.8 40 so it’s easy to understand why every program in the country has been in pursuit. However, if Clemson is going to land Dindy, they have have some ground to make up. He isn’t expected to announce a commitment until the All-American Bowl so there is still time, but it won’t be easy.
There has been talk that cornerbacks Daylen Everette and Azareyeh Thomas could be on hand. Everette is out of IMG and they do not like their players missing any summer workouts which is what would happen if he were to attend. He is thought to be a UNC lean at the moment.
As for Thomas, we will just have to wait and see. The 4-star talent from Florida is considered a heavy LSU lean at the moment.
That brings us to 5-star edge rusher Jeremiah Alexander. After his early June visit to Clemson he said he planned to return for the cookout. However, he has since announced a commitment date of July 8 and it appears the elite pass rushing prospect is heading to Alabama.
