Colin Sadler was one of the Tigers’ first verbal commitments in the 2022 class. Out of Greenville, the local product committed to Clemson back in November.
“I’m staying home, 1000% committed,” Sadler tweeted at the time.
Sadler worked out for the coaches on the final day of Dabo Swinney’s high school camps, and watching him, he looks like a guy that could play at this level right now. He moves extremely well for a kid of his size.
Standing 6-foot-6 and weighing more than 300 pounds already, Sadler is a physically imposing figure. Last week Sadler competed in the Rivals 5-Star Challenge in Atlanta and the 4-star tackle prospect did not disappoint.
There is no doubt that he possesses that nastiness you want to see in offensive linemen.
Sadler also won the strongest man competition at the event.
Clemson has been recruiting at an elite level for several years now. In all but one recruiting cycle over the past five years, the teams blue-chip ratio increases over the year previous.
Having said that, it hasn’t been until the last couple of recruiting cycles that the Tigers have been able to consistently hit on the elite-level offensive linemen. Ironically, they were winning at the highest level with offensive lines that were not quite what most would call “elite.”
However, those days are no more, and Sadler is a prime example. Currently, Clemson has two 4-star offensive linemen committed in 2022. All four they signed in 2021 were blue-chip guys, including 5-star Tristan Leigh, and in 2020, four of the six signed were blue-chip players.
Maybe the best really is yet to come…..
