Highest Ranked Edge Rusher in Country to Visit Clemson June 1

The end of the dead period is upon us…. finally.

After more than a year of not being able to have any face-to-face contact with recruits, college coaches can take a huge step towards a return to normalcy on Tuesday and Dabo Swinney and the coaching staff at Clemson are wasting no time in kicking things off.

The Tigers are set to host the No. 1 edge rusher in the country on Tuesday as Jeremiah Alexander will be on campus for an unofficial visit.

Alexander will then make stops at Georgia for an unofficial on June 3, then take his only official visit of the summer at UCF on June 11-13. Florida and Alabama will also get unofficial visits over the summer.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound prospect from Alabama is ranked as the No. 1 edge rusher in the country and the No. 1 player in his state. He’s also ranked No. 14 overall, giving you an idea of exactly how talented the pass rusher is.

Alexander was committed to Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide at one point but decided to open his recruitment back up last October and decommitted. However, Bama is still considered the team to beat at the moment.

Getting Alexander back on campus is big for the Clemson coaching staff, though. He has been on campus at least twice in the past, but wants to learn more about what the Tigers have to offer. He also plans to take an official to Clemson in the fall.

A decision isn’t expected until the Under-Armour All-American Game in January, meaning Swinney and Co. still have plenty of time to work their magic.
