Clemson Recruiting: Texas Emerging as Leader for 4-star WR Brenen Thompson

Clemson heads into the summer looking to add at least one more slot receiver to the 2022 recruiting class. Maybe even one more outside guy to join Adam Randall.

4-star Brenen Thompson, out of Spearman, Texas is one of the guys at the top of the board. The Tigers had been gaining some traction with the 5-foot-10, 165 speedster, but so is the big in-state school, Texas.

New head coach Steve Sarkisian has made Thompson a priority in 2022 promising hope in a new era and the Longhorns might just be the favorite heading into the summer months. Oklahoma State could also be a factor.

Thompson plans to take visits to Texas, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M this summer. At this time, he does not have plans to visit Clemson. However, he has indicated a desire to take an official to Clemson in the fall and if that happens all bets are off.

Antonio Williams, out of Irmo, is another guy that is on the Tigers radar. The 4-star prospect has not been offered just yet but that could come after he works out for the staff in June. He is considered a South Carolina lean currently, but an offer from Clemson would change things.

4-star Andre Green, out of Virginia, is also another guy that could eventually get an offer. He will camp at Clemson in June.

It’s possible that the Tigers end up offering both but only taking one.
