This will be Uiagalelei’s first season as a full time starter but if his two starts filling in for former Tiger quarterback Trevor Lawrence last season are any indication, the oddsmakers may be on to something. In his first season he had 78 completions on 117 attempts for 914 yards and five touchdowns. This included his two starts against Boston College and Notre Dame where he went 59-85 for 781 yards, with four touchdowns and no interceptions.
Clemson will also be returning a defense full of returning experience, meaning the Tigers should be better on that side of the ball than they were a season ago.
Dabo Swinney’s team will go into the season looking to advance to the College Football Playoff for the seventh consecutive time and one of the favorites to win a national title.
