It took a year longer than it should have, but Gage Cervanka is headed to the NFL.
The former Clemson offensive lineman has been signed as a free agent by the Chicago Bears.
Cervenka went undrafted after the 2019 season and due to the pandemic was not able work out for teams in an effort to be signed as an undrafted free agent. After working out at Clemson’s Pro Day alongside Jackson Carman ahead of the draft, Cervenka now has a new home.
Cervenka played in 46 career games at Clemson, including 23 starts, and the former wrestler also owns the school record with 44 reps of 225 pounds at the bench press.
