Odds on Trevor Lawrence Winning NFL MVP Award as Rookie

The NFL Draft is still two weeks away but there is no doubt about whose name is being called first.

The Jacksonville Jaguars won the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes last season giving new head coach Urban Meyer the quarterback he covets to run his offense at the NFL level.

When Lawrence does arrive in Jacksonville expectations will be through the roof. According to BetOnline.ag, Lawrence will have the best chance of any Jaguar at winning the NFL MVP next season.

The former Clemson quarterback is being given 66/1 (+6,600) odds to win the award, giving Lawrence the 12th best odds of anyone in the league. In fact, the rookie is getting better odds than players the likes of Jimmy Garoppolo (80/1), Jared Goff (80/1), Dalvin Cook (80/1), Ryan Fitzpatrick (80/1), DeAndre Hopkins (100/1), and Travis Kelce (100/1).

He is getting the same odds as Tua Tagovailoa, Kirk Cousins, Ben Roethlisberger, and Alvin Kamara. Lawrence’s figure is also the best of all the rookies listed as Zach Wilson (80/1), Justin Fields (100/1), Mac Jones (150/1), and Trey Lance (150/1) are all behind him.

The Jaguars are coming off an NFL-worst 1-15 season in 2020. However, Lawrence will have some weapons to work with at the skill positions. If the Jags can protect him.
