Houston PD Launch Investigation Into Texans QB Deshaun Watson

Law enforcement is officially involved in the Deshaun Watson saga.

The Houston Police released a statement on Friday saying an official report had been filed against the current Texans and former Clemson quarterback.

“Today, a complainant filed a report with the Houston Police Department concerning Deshaun Watson,” the statement read. “As with any allegation, the Houston Police Department is now conducting an investigation and will not comment further during the investigative process.”

After the announcement of the investigation, Watson’s attorney, Rusty Hardin, released a statement of his own.

“We welcome this long overdue development,” Hardin said. “Now we will learn the identity of at least one accuser. We will fully cooperate with the Houston Police Department.”

Numerous civil suits have been filed against Watson over the past few weeks accusing the quarterback of sexual misconduct. Friday’s police report was the first to be filed with law enforcement.

Texans GM Nick Caserio had this to say earlier in the week regarding the situation.

“It’s a legal situation, a legal process and we’re respectful of that. We certainly take them very seriously,” Caserio said during a podcast appearance this week. “The allegations, what’s been discussed, are certainly troubling. Organizationally that’s not something that we can condone … those types of actions, but again, we’ll let the legal process take care of itself and however it’s going to unfold we’ll certainly comply and do what we can to try and help and facilitate a resolution for everybody.”
