5-Star Safety Picks Up Clemson Offer

Jacoby Mathews, a five-star safety out of Louisiana, has officially picked up a Clemson offer.

The 6-foot-1, 204 pound prospect in the class of 2022 announced the offer on Twitter.

“Beyond BLESSED and HONORED to have been extended an offer from the University of Clemson!!” Mathews tweeted Tuesday night.

Back in February Mathews released a list of his top six schools that included Florida, LSU, Oklahoma, Mississippi State, Texas, and Alabama.

However, the elite-level defender has since picked up more offers, including the one from Clemson, and there appears to be a long ways to go in this recruitment. Mathews now has well over two dozen offers.

The 247 Composite ranks Mathews No. 32 overall, as the second best safety in the country, and No. 2 in the state of Louisiana.
