Clemson’s search for a quarterback continues.
On Friday, five-star 2022 quarterback Ty Simpson, who was the top target of the Tigers, announced a commitment to Alabama. Clemson was thought to have led for the quarterback from Tennessee at one time, but Nick Saban made a strong push late and was able put the Crimson Tide over the top.
However, all is not lost. Despite the fact that the Tigers had only offered two quarterbacks in this class, the Clemson coaching staff has developed a close relationship Cade Klubnik, out of Austin, Texas. And almost immediately after Simpson’s announcement, Klubnik had announced an offer, becoming the third quarterback to get an offer from Clemson in this cycle.
“WOW!! All glory to God! This one is special,” Klubnik tweeted. “I have built a great relationship with these coaches over the past 8 months. Blessed to receive an offer from Clemson University!!! Go Tigers!”
The four-star prospect already has offers from more than 30 schools including North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Texas A&M, Auburn, Georgia, and LSU.
Currently, he is considered the fifth best pro-style quarterback in the country and is ranked No. 99 overall in the 247 Composite. He also ranks No. 18 in the state of Texas.
This is an offer Klubnik has been waiting for. Just after receiving the offer, three crystal balls were put in for Clemson. One came from Anna Hickey and another other from Steve Wiltfong, Hickey is 3-3 on 2022 predictions and Wiltfong is 64-68. All-time Wiltfong is 2883-3172 (90.89%). When he puts in a prediction, it is worth taking notice.
The third crystal ball came from Justin Thind, who covers Michigan State.
