Leave it to Dave Doeren and NC State to mess a good thing up. It’s Liberty for crying out loud. Embarrassing. Kudos to Freddie for not trusting that ragtag group in Raleigh.
And we aren’t even going to mention Florida State, who is the reason we only ended up with three games this week instead of the usual four. We have heard enough about them the past few days, so like Clemson has done, we will flip the page.
Regardless, both of us are up over .500 now. Let’s see if we can stay that way in a season in which predicting games has become a hit and miss proposition.

Week 13
#2 Notre Dame (-5) at #19 North Carolina:
CJ: Forget the Iron Bowl, this is the game I am most looking forward to this weekend. Friday night, on the road, another chance to see if this Notre Dame team is really different. This UNC team, while inconsistent, is dangerous. Sam Howell is a baller and if he is on the Heels are capable of putting up a lot of points in a hurry. I do think the Heels make a game out of this one, but in the end, the Irish do just enough to cover the number….. Notre Dame -5
Freddie: This one will see Mack Brown bring his Tarheels in looking to spoil Notre Dame’s chance at going undefeated. It will probably be a little closer than the Fighting Irish would like but at the end of the day North Carolina QB Sam Howell and his high flying offense, like this entire season, hasn’t shown that they know anything about how to play a full 60 minutes. They have shown glimpses of being able to compete with the best at times and others they are having to outscore Wake Forest 28-8 in the fourth quarter to get a come from behind victory. For that reason I’m taking….. Notre Dame -5
#22 Auburn at #1 Alabama (-24.5):
CJ: Not much juice with the Iron Bowl this year. This Auburn offense just can not keep up with Mac jones and the Tide. Nick Saban or no Nick Saban, Bama rolls….. Alabama -24.5
Freddie: Since the Auburn passing attack has started to work like head coach Gus Malzahn hoped it would, some may think that this game will be closer than expected earlier this season, but I don’t expect that at all. Mac Jones seems to be firing on all cylinders and has the Tide offense doing the same. I look for Jones and Alabama to roll in this one. The question will be does Malzahn’s seat warm up some if his Tigers lose badly in this one….. Alabama -24.5
LSU at #5 Texas A&M (-14):
CJ: The Aggies have quietly played some solid football this season. Maybe Jimbo isn’t going to burn that place to ground after all. As expected, by everyone other than their own fans anyways, LSU has taken a step back after losing all of that talent from last years team. A&M is in no man’s land though. One loss SEC team, ranked fifth, none of it matters. The only hope they have is to keep winning and pray for chaos….. Texas A&M -14
Freddie: LSU has to hope that Texas A&M comes out with a little rust after not being able to play over the last few weeks. Even if they do the Tigers still don’t have Joe Burrow or the other players that went undefeated last year walking back into the door to play in this game and the Aggies are still playing with hopes of getting into the playoffs. Needless to say, I believe Texas A&M handles LSU and sends coach O’s Tigers back below .500….. Texas A&M -14
#9 Georgia at South Carolina (-21.5):
CJ: Do UofSC fans even care anymore at this point? They seemed to be more inclined to talk about the coaching search over the fact that the Luke Doty era has now started. A year ago a freshman quarterback sparked them to a win over Georgia. Lightning will not strike twice though because the JT Daniels era has started in Athens….. Georgia -21.5
Freddie: Georgia comes into this game wanting revenge for the loss that they had against the Gamecocks last year. South Carolina is hoping to come out with a performance like they had last week in the second half against Missouri when they lost by seven and not one like the three weeks before where they gave up an average of 53 points per game. You know you are having a horrific season when your silver lining is you only lost by seven, only gave up 17, and Covid couldn’t even save your head coach’s job. What should really concern the Gamecock faithful is that JT Daniels has been inserted into the lineup and just in time for this game. Last week he definitely looked worth the wait for Bulldog fans. Unless South Carolina gets better at tackling, blocking, throwing, catching, and everything else decent football teams do, this one could get ugly very fast….. Georgia -21.5
