One Player Clear Cut Favorite To Be Number One Pick In 2021 Draft

Sportsline says there is a clear cut favorite to be next years number one overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft In fact, they say that had he been eligible Thursday night, it would have been him and not LSU’s Joe Burrow to go to the Bengals with this years top overall pick.

Go ahead and mark it down now: Barring injury, shocking regression or major off-field problems, Lawrence will be the first name called in the 2021 NFL Draft. To say scouts are salivating over the 6-foot-6, 220-pounder is definitely an understatement.

Sportsbettingdime.com also has Lawrence as the favorite to go number one overall with Ohio State QB Justin Fields as a distant second.

– Trevor Lawrence (Clemson)  -305
– Justin Fields (Ohio State) +300
– Penei Sewell (Oregon)  +400
– D’Eriq King (Miami)  +1600
– Micah Parsons (Penn State) +2500
– Jamie Newman (Georgia) +3300
– Alex Leatherwood (Alabama) +3300
– Gregory Rousseau (Miami)  +3300
– Ja’Marr Chase (LSU)  +500

Lawrence had the best season ever recorded by a true freshman in 2018, leading his team to a perfect 15-0 record on the way to a national title.

In 2019 he got off to a slow start. but by the end of the season was playing some of his best football as Clemson headed into the College Football Playoff.

So who is the early favorite to land the services of the young, long haired stud? According to Vegas, that would be Jacksonville, whose win total is set at 4.5 in 2020, the lowest among all NFL teams.

Other teams that could be in line to take a QB that early next season could be Detroit, Chicago, New England, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Tennessee, Denver, Las Vegas and New Orleans. Maybe Dallas depending on the Dak Prescott contract situation.

The Tigers have never had a player taken number one overall, but a year from now that very likely will have become a thing of the past.
