Clemson baseball is right back at it today, fresh off the heels of their 12-0 win on Tuesday over Presbyterian, hosting Winthrop at DKS. Monte Lee knows what kind of challenge the Eagles present.
“We can enjoy this one, but we need to move on… it’s going to be a heck of a test for us tomorrow. Hopefully, we can carry this momentum into tomorrow’s game.”
While PC didn’t prove to be much of a test, Winthrop should provide one. The Eagles come in at 11-2 and hitting over .290 as a team. They don’t have much power, having hit only three homeruns, but have six players hitting over .350, and two over .400.
Macklin Ohs starts for Winthrop. He’s 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA in six plus innings of work. Keyshawn Askew starts for Clemson, and will need to throw strikes. He’s struggled with command at times, averaging more than one walk per inning.
The Tiger bats have heated up of late. Dylan Brewer being moved to the leadoff spot seems like a brilliant move so far.
First pitch is at 6pm and will be streamed on the ESPN app via ACCNX. Or if you’re in the area, tickets are just $2.
