Clemson head baseball coach Monte Lee announced the dismissal of returning outfielder Michael Green today. After starting 27 games last season, the returning junior was the team leader in batting average at .307, and had 3 HR and 14 RBI. He also scored 26 runs.
Greene was expected to play a large role for the team in 2020. After returning from an injury that caused him to miss significant time, Greene was the team’s best hitter down the stretch last season.
Coach Lee cited a violation of team rules as the reason for Green’s dismissal, As with all internal matters involving student athletes, no other information is expected.
