Clemson And LSU Brought In The Viewers

The College Football Playoff’s national title game featuring #1 LSU vs #3 Clemson gave ESPN cable televisions best viewership in more than two years, and outdrew last years national title game between Clemson and Alabama.

The MegaCast audience peaked at 29,200,00 right as LSU took their first lead of the game late in the second quarter. Viewership was up 1% over last years game.

The main telecast on ESPN was up 3% over last years game, bringing in 25,004,00 viewers.

Even before all the streaming data has been collected, the game delivered a top ten all time audience. Once all the data is collected, it is expected that this game will surpass all three of the Clemson/Alabama mathcups of the CFP era.
