The 11-0 Clemson Tigers head to Charlotte looking for their fifth straight ACC Championship. The Tigers remained at number three in the latest CFP rankings behind Ohio State and LSU, with one loss teams Georgia, Utah, Oklahoma, and Baylor all jockeying for that fourth and final spot.
After weeks of being questioned because of a lack of a single quality win, the conversation was quite different on Tuesday night. ESPN college football analysts Chris Fowler and David Pollack both said that Clemson was now a lock for the playoff, “absent getting boatraced by 50” this weekend. In other words, the Tigers are in, even with a close loss. What a difference a couple of weeks make.
The Cavaliers, winners of the Coastal, are 9-3 and came in at #23 in the latest rankings. Their 39-30 win over Virginia Tech last Friday snapped the Wahoos 15 game losing streak to the rival Hokies.
The Tigers are 28 point favorites and have a 95% shot at winning per ESPN’s FPI.
Both teams have now released depth charts for Saturday’s matchup. There’s one change for Clemson, as RB Travis Etienne is now listed as the co starter at kickoff return, alongside Joseph Ngata.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm, inside Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. The game is scheduled to be televised by ABC.
