The Tigers and the Gamecocks are set to do battle this weekend in the annual Palmetto Bowl. Kickoff is set for noon in Williams Brice Stadium and the game will be televised by ESPN. Earlier this afternoon both teams put out depth charts for the game.

It appears South Carolina just put out the same depth chart they released for the A&M game. It’s dated November 14. That’s why you can’t put a ton of stock into these things.

That is likely why Gamecock receiver Bryan Edwards is listed as a starter just 5 days removed from Will Muschamp saying he was doubtful for the Clemson game. Edwards injured a knee in the 20-15 loss to App State, then reinjured it in practice just before the teams game against Texas A&M. He had the meniscus in the knee scoped on the 20th.

It is hard to envision the senior wideout being ready to go that quick after the procedure, especially considering he is going to be playing on Sundays, and outside of pride there is really nothing on the line.

Sitting at just 4-7, UofSC has no chance at playing in a bowl game and it would be understandable if Edwards chose not to risk further damage to the knee. However, he is just one touchdown short of the school record for receiving touchdowns in a career, so maybe he gives it a go to try and add his name to the record books one more time. If he does, he’s not going to see many snaps. Maybe a handful to try and get him that record inside the red zone but I would be surprised to see him at all.
