Each week we take a look at the relevant games from a Clemson fans perspective, and tell you how they will play out. And surprisingly, if you go back and check our record, we have done alright. However, we will still put our weekly disclaimer down in writing. That is, if you read this, then are tempted to call your local bookie, please take another gander at the title above.
Florida at UofSC(Noon ESPN)
The Gators are coming off a pretty disappointing loss to LSU. A loss that now puts them behind the eight ball as far as making the CFP. It will undoubtedly take running the table and winning the SEC. The Gamecocks are coming off of a massive upset of Georgia, and did it on the road no less. Say what you will about the Dawgs level of play in that game, it was an impressive defensive effort by UofSC. The question is can they do it again? They will need both QB Ryan Hillinski and DT Javon Kinlaw healthy, both of who were injured last week. This Gator defense is really good. The offense is much better since Kyle Trask took over at QB for Felipe Franks, who is out for the season injured. The Gators are favored by 5.5 on the road, and I will have to see the Gamecocks do it in two straight before I believe it. They keep it close though….. UofSC Covers
#16 Michigan at #7 Penn State (7:30 ABC)
Michigan has been an underachiever of epic proportions so far. That offense is a mess and it is a travesty this is the level they are playing at this far into the Harbaugh era. They play good defense but when you can not score, you put the defense in somewhat of a bind. And this Penn State defense is pretty good in its own right. The Wolverines are so bad on offense, they may not cross the 50. The Nittany Lions are 8.5 point favorites at home, and although it will be a low scoring affair….. Penn St Covers
UNC at Va Tech (3:30 ACCNX)
The Cheatin’ A** Heels make their way north to Lane Stadium as a 3.5 point road favorite. The Hokies have been so bad they rarely get to do the Hokie Pokie anymore at games these days. So bad in fact that Justin Fuente is in could be unemployed before the season even ends. The defense is so bad that Bud Foster is close to going into hiding. It is a shame that his final season in Blacksburg sees him having a defense that is so bad that they can’t even hold a 21 point lead. North Carolina should actually be favored by more….. UNC Covers
Duke at Virginia (3:30 ACCN)
The Dookies visit Scott Stadium on Saturday locked in a three way tie atop the Coastal with UVA and UNC. The loser of this one will find itself on the outside looking in as far as the race for the division goes. UVA is coming off a disappointing loss to Miami in which its offense looked inept. This Duke team is scoring 35 points a game and are doing it with a balanced attack. Virginia was thought to be a team that would take a sizable step forward this season. So far, they have looked very similar to the team they were last season. Solid, but not great. The Wahoo’s are only 3.5 point home favorites. Even Vegas has no confidence in them. Having said that, this one could go either way, but….. Dookies Win Straight Up
