Most Intriguing Week 2 Matchups

Turns out, there are a few more games on the week two slate worth keeping an eye on outside of the top ranked Tigers matchup with #12 Texas A&M. It’s not a Saturday full of great matchups but there are some.

USC vs Stanford

Stanford rolls into the Coliseum as a 3.5 point underdog after knocking off Northwestern in its opener. Backup QB Davis Mills looks to get the start for the Cardinals after starter KJ Costello suffered a head injury last week. USC has its own QB issues as they’ll be starting true freshman Kedon Slovis after losing JT Daniels for the season to an ACL injury.

#6 LSU vs #9 Texas

It’s the weeks big primetime matchup as both teams come into 2019 with high hopes and playoff aspirations. The Tigers come in as 6.5 point favorites and have been promising fans a new high flying offense. The Longhorns will look to make it two consecutive wins over SEC powerhouses and if they pull this one off, all that “Texas is back” talk will reach a fever pitch.

#21 Syracuse at Maryland

Syracuse comes into this one with a lot on the line. With a win over the Terps, the Orange are looking at a first ever visit from the Game Day crew next week for their impending matchup with the top ranked Tigers. Assuming the Tigers get by A&M of course.

The Orange come in as 1.5 point underdogs after a 24-0 victory over Liberty in week one. The passing game struggled with new QB Tommy DeVito at the helm but used a strong running game and swarming defense to get by overmatched Liberty. If they get caught looking ahead, Maryland might give em something to remember.
