Brad Kelly of The Draft Network recently ranked the top WR groups in the country, and there was one surprise. No, not the fact that Alabama was selected as the school with the best group of receivers. Agree or disagree, many media outlets have ranked the Crimson Tide WR corps as tops in the country. What was surprising was who he had as having the second best group.
Here’s the top five….
5. USC
4. Ohio State
3. Clemson
2. Michigan
1. Alabama
That is correct. He lists Michigan as having the nations second best group of receivers.
As main contributors for Clemson, he lists Justyn Ross, Tee Higgins, Diondre Overton, Amari Rogers, and Frank Ladson. He notes Ladson being a Top 40 recruit, and him supplying the team with “talented depth.” No mention of Joseph Ngata, who by all accounts is tearing it up in camp.
He mentions the Wolverines trio of junior wideouts (Jones, Collins, and Black) that “have had sky-high potential since stepping on campus, and this should be the season they finally put it all together.”
So it seems he’s basically saying one group with potential they’ve yet to live up to is better than another that is already playing to their potential, and did it much quicker. Oh, and they won a national title in the process. #WRU
