Count ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III among those that love Dabo Swinney’s hiring of Garrett Riley.

Griffin sees it as a move that will put the Clemson Tigers back among the nation’s elite.

“I think Clemson will actually shock the nation and be in the run for a national championship,” he said.

“Dabo Swinney realized that his offense was archaic. And then he went outside of his system when got a young offensive mining gear rally from TCU. And now they’re gonna be able to build a system with the perfect quarterback for that system in Cade Klubnik.”

The Tigers had made the College Football Playoff in six consecutive seasons. That run ended in 2022 and the drought continued last season, as Clemson dropped three games.

However, Griffin sees a return to prominence and his firsthand experience with Klubnik is a big part of the reason why.

“I’ve known Cade Klubnik for a very long time. He attended my quarterback academy that I run at Baylor and he just has a thing about him that draws people into him and he gets the best out of them. I’m very excited for them.”
