Bryan Bresee might very well hear his name called on the first night of the NFL Draft.

The former 5-star recruit, who was the number one player in the country in the 2020 recruiting class, recently made an appearance on the Gramlich & MacLain podcast and one of the things discussed was his decision to pick Clemson over offers from most every bigtime program in the country.

“Yeah, I mean, like you said, there was a lot that went into it,” Bresee said. “You know, in high school, I went and visited just about everywhere, I feel like, during my high school days. And yeah, just at the end of the day, just meeting with all the coaches at Clemson and getting to be around some of the players and seeing the culture that was at Clemson – it’s just where I thought I would grow the most as a player and as a man. So, I thought the people around me were the right people to make that happen.”

He also talked about how being the top recruit in his class has prepared him for going through the draft process.

“Yeah, I mean, I would say not as much on the football side of things because once you get to college, it’s a whole different game,” Bresee said. “You know, it doesn’t matter whatever went on in high school, you gotta adapt once you get to college. But I would say just being comfortable talking around people after being in high school doing a lot of interviews and stuff then. And yeah, just being comfortable talking in front of people was probably the biggest help for it because the football side of things, it was definitely a big change once I got to college.”

Bresee also addressed whether or not he seriously considered returning to Clemson for his senior season.

“Yeah, I mean, I definitely wasn’t 100% set in stone throughout this year,” he said. “You know, I had a lot going on this year, so I wasn’t 100% set on heading out after everything. But yeah, I was just kind of waiting until the end of the season, talking to Coach (Dabo) Swinney, (Chief of Football Administration) Coach (Woody) McCorvey, figuring out what the next step would kind of look like for me, but I wanted to finish out the season and kind of just see where it put me at the end. And I waited to decide until then.”
