Adam Randall appears to be as versatile as they come.
A product of Myrtle Beach High School, the freshman wideout did a little bit of everything with the Seahawks. Outside of being on of the most highly touted receivers in the country, Randall also lined up at quarterback, returned kicks and even played some safety in his teams region clinching win over South Florence last season.
At 6-foot-2, 215-pounds, Randall is a physical specimen and head coach Dabo Swinney believes he can help the Tigers at any of the three receiver positions.
“Adam is a big physical guy that can handle himself in the boundary,” Swinney said. “But he’s got all the skills he needs to play to the field or in the slot. He can really do all of them. I mean, Adam’s played quarterback, wildcat, I mean he’s done a little bit everything.”
During his first spring at Clemson, he’s been overly impressive, according to Swinney. He’s so impressive from a physical standpoint, the head coach said it’s easy to forget he’s still just a young freshman.
“He’s been excellent. I mean, he just naturally does some things,” Swinney said. “First of all, physically, you could put him in an NFL locker room and he’d fit right in, but then you realize he’s just a young player.”
However, while it’s still very early on in his very first spring and there are still things that need to be cleaned up, Swinney already knows the Tigers hit on Randall.
“Just some little things as far as just some technique and some release technique,” Swinney said. “And just a lot coming at him with five days of installation, but he’s exactly what we hoped he’d be. He’s going to be, great.”
