Clemson Heads to Notre Dame for Huge ACC Matchup

Clemson is off to another start to a season that has had some good wins and some heartbreaking losses.

The Tigers now make an appearance in the Joyce Center on Wednesday for their matchup with a red hot Notre Dame team (9-5, 3-1) that is strong offensively and can really hurt you from the perimeter.-

If anyone thinks it isn’t an important game then they haven’t been paying attention to Irish head coach Mike Brey’s attempts to make sure the students show up by standing on tables in the dining hall two different times asking them to come out.

Clemson, in true Brad Brownell fashion, began the season 5-4 with losses to St. Bonaventure, West Virginia, Rutgers, and Miami. Although, none of those are terrible losses.

They then went on a four game win streak that included wins over Virginia and instate rival South Carolina before falling to Virginia on January 4. They then followed that up with a road win over NC State on Saturday.

The Irish, on the other hand, after losing in the B1G/ACC challenge to Indiana, have won five straight, including conference wins over North Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Pitt. Their season also includes an upset win over Kentucky and a bad loss to a Boston College team that is currently rebuilding.

Notre Dame has been shooting a lot better during their winning streak which means the Tigers are going to have to defend. The good thing for Brownell’s squad is that is how they like to play.

While they still go into shooting droughts, the Tigers pride themselves on playing defense which helps keep them in most games. Tonight they will need to find some offensive efficiency to go with their defense if they want to get their third straight road win in the ACC.
