Chez Mellusi had been making the most out of his opportunity at Wisconsin.
However, his season has now come to an end as Badgers head coach Paul Chryst informed the media on Thursday that Mellusi will miss the rest of the season with a leg injury.
“It saddens all of us,” Chryst said. “There’s nothing more important than why guys do this, is to be able to play in these games. I have appreciated the way, really from the start of the process with Chez in the recruitment when he got on campus. I thought he gave a ton to this team in production but in a lot of other areas. We’re sad about that.”
In his first season with Wisconsin, Mellusi had rushed for 815 yards on 173 carries, with four touchdowns. In his two seasons at Clemson, the running back registered 427 rushing yards and scored six total touchdowns.
