Many Tiger fans can probably be heard saying the following “Playoffs, don’t talk about playoffs!” in their best Jim Mora voice.
It’s truly been the roughest start in recent memory for Clemson, as the Tigers are sitting at 2-2 after their heart wrenching double overtime loss to NC State.
However, Allstate’s Playoff Predictor came out on Monday and despite the disappointing loss to the Wolfpack, the Tigers still have a 10 percent chance of making this year’s College Football Playoff. Even more interesting is the fact that the Tigers are given the same shot as Penn State, who is unbeaten at 4-0.
Roy Philpott’s tweet starts out with him pointing out to not shoot the messenger and he has a point. This projector breaks down which teams have the best chance to make this season’s College Football Playoff and keep in mind that the first four weeks of the 2021 season have been a little on the crazy side, with more sure to come.
Some of the more crazier things we have seen resides with this Clemson team. How many expected the offense to be as bad as they have been or that Clemson would have two losses in September? Especially, with the run that head coach Dabo Swinney has had them on. Not many. Just like not many would have expected fans and critics to be wanting coaches fired already, but the start has created just that.
The Tigers would have to run the table from this point forward and pretty much hope that the start to the season continues for other top teams. They get a chance to begin that run this Saturday at 7:30pm on the ACC Network when they host 4-0 Boston College for Homecoming. And to do that the offense needs to wake up and come off of life support.
