Two Clemson Tigers Named to Lott IMPACT Trophy Preseason Watchlist

It’s an award that no Clemson Tiger has ever won.

The Lott IMPACT Trophy is given annually to college football’s top defensive player who best exemplifies the IMPACT acronym: integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community and tenacity.

Nolan Turner and Andrew Booth Jr were two of the 42 players named to the preseason watch list for the prestigious award.

Turner is heading into his sixth season, choosing to take advantage of the extra year of eligibility the NCAA is allowing due to the pandemic. He has been a staple of the Tigers secondary the past few years.

Booth is a rising junior that many have pegged for a major breakout season in 2021. After a bumpy freshman year, Booth showed exactly how dominant he can be in 2020, but was limited at times by nagging injuries. The former five-star recruit is expected to start shooting up draft boards during the upcoming season.
