Point Spread Continues To Rise For Palmetto Bowl

As we inch closer towards this season’s Palmetto Bowl, the point spread continues to rise. When the early line was released last weekend, the Tigers were a 21.5 point favorite over the Gamecocks. Two days later it had moved to 24.5 and today the Tigers are now 26 point favorites to win a sixth straight over their rivals from Columbia.

This year’s game takes place in Columbia at Williams Brice Stadium. Thanks to a subpar season from our feathered friends in Columbia, most notably a home loss to App State, the game is slated for a noon kick on ESPN.

On one hand, noon kicks generally favor the visiting team. In this instance it might favor Clemson even more so than normal. Gamecock Nation won’t have nearly as long to consume the heavy amounts of liquid courage, so maybe Victory Walk is drama free and the playing field stays free of debris. Hey, we can dream right?

Another positive concerning the noon kick is that it could mean a late arriving crowd. We have all seen the multitude of videos depicting the shenanigans that take place at Gamecock tailgates. Whether they’re fighting or fornicating, there’s bound to be some late arrivals 😉.
